A dream come trueSaid Abdallah
Those of us who attended last year's series at the Hampstead Christian Study Centre will remember Said as our guide on "How to read the Quran". You may also know him as a member of the Hampstead Players, and children who took the Graveyard tours during the Flower Festival may recall seeing him pop up as a variety of different characters.
I enjoy reciting the Quran and have done so for the last fifty years, since I was a medical student at Alexandria University. The Quran recitation and reading of the English translation is widely available, however, they are recited by two different people, one recites in Arabic and the other the English translation.
It has been my ambition and dream to produce the first Quran recitation and translation given by a single reader. This project started back in 2012 when my friend, Naugul Durani, asked me to recite the Quran at the weekly Islamic Circle meetings at the Regent Park Mosque. People regularly approached me, asking where they could buy my tapes. I started recording at the Islam Channel studios in 2014 and my friend Timo Saila, the freelance sound engineer, did a great job. The rest, as they say, is history.
It gives me a great pleasure to announce that my Quran recording is now available on Amazon, Apple Music, Spotify, Jaxta and others. I am extremely grateful for being invited to write this article.
