Children and Young People
During the pandemic there are no separate activities for children. We no worship together at 9.30 on Sundays in church.
Welcome to our Junior Church website. We have a thriving Junior Church catering from babies through to teenagers. On a Sunday morning we run the following groups:
Creche for pre-school children
St Matthew's Group for reception and year 1 children
St Mark's Group for children in Years 2 & 3
St Luke's Group for children in Years 4, 5 & 6
St John's Group for children in year 7 upwards
Children start the service in church and go down to the crypt to join their groups after the children's welcome during the first hymn. We very much welcome new children to all of these groups. Please bring your child down to the crypt and someone will point you in the right direction.
All of the Sunday morning groups are run by volunteers and we always need more helpers! If you would like to get involved please speak to one of the helpers on a Sunday morning.
In addition we hold a short service of songs, stories, and prayers for babies and toddlers on a Thursday morning (Holy Hamsters) followed by coffee and playtime. A drop-in for pre-school children also takes place in the crypt on a Monday morning.
For older children (year 10 and above), a small but committed Young People's Group meets on the second Sunday of the month, 6.30–9.00 pm, to talk about life and Christian faith, and enjoy each other's company. We would be very pleased to welcome new young people to the group. Pleae contact them via firstname.lastname@example.org.
We also have a Junior Choir for girls and boys from 8 to 16.
The church maintains strong links with Hampstead Parochial School through the Clergy's presence at assemblies and through our representatives on the Governing Body. Many of the children in the church attend the school.
