Hampstead Counselling Service’s Midsummer Musical Evening

Thursday 18th July 2019 (6.00 to 9.15 p.m.)

Readers are warmly invited to come to this Midsummer Musical Evening being held by Hampstead Counselling Service (“HCS”) on Thursday 18 July 2019 from 6.00pm to 9.15pm at Burgh House, New End Square, London NW3 1LT.

The pianist is the young virtuoso Julian Trevelyan, winner of a number of laureates and prizes at international competitions and currently enjoying a three-year scholarship to study piano with Rena Shereshevskaya at the Ėcole Normale de Musique in Paris. He will play a programme of music in two halves, based on the idea of composer performers.

During the periods before, after and between the two halves of his performance, a delicious, informal summer supper will be served with drinks, while those coming enjoy the elegant surroundings and (as the organisers confidently hope) the delightful garden of charming Burgh House.

Tickets cost £45 per person. HCS also hopes that those attending may make a suggested donation of £55 or more to help provide counselling sessions for those needing help who could not otherwise afford it. Any voluntary donation can be enhanced through the Gift Aid scheme (where the donor satisfies the relevant requirement).

HCS is a small charity which has, for over 30 years now, offered counselling at reduced fees to people who might not otherwise be able to afford professional help in relation to a wide variety of personal problems, relating to their home or work life and including problems arising from stress and overwhelming emotions, trauma and many other difficulties. HCS’s clients are adults of all ages from all walks of life, living mainly in north London. All HCS’s counsellors are fully qualified and experienced, and subject to professional supervision. In the face of cuts in NHS funding and benefits and the pressures of life in London, HCS continues to be a much-needed and valued neighbourhood service. However, it has to rely on the generous support of donors to make up the inevitable deficit between the amounts that its clients can afford and the ever-rising costs of providing its services.  HCS invites you to support it by becoming a donor.

Anyone interested in coming on 18th July should contact HCS’s Treasurer, Miss Patricia Nicholson by writing an email to [email protected]. Any payment can be made by bank transfer to Hampstead Counselling Service, HSBC, Sort Code: 40-04-09, A/c No. 91281054 quoting your name as a reference. Alternatively, a cheque made payable to Hampstead Counselling Service can be sent to Patricia Nicholson at 30 Fitzwarren Gardens, London N19 3TP.

HCS also takes this opportunity of mentioning that:

1.       1. The telephone number for anyone to use who feels that they could benefit from counselling is 0207 4857335. Messages left on this number will be answered by a call back.

2.       2. HCS welcomes enquiries on the same number from anyone interested in becoming one of its counsellors.

3.       3. HCS is run by a small board of trustees. If it would interest you to join their number – or indeed if you would be able to assist help with any sort of fund-raising (including our biennial musical evening!) –  please do email [email protected].
