Choir News       Kathy Nicholson

Thank you to all who attended our St John Passion performance. It’s a real highlight of the year for us and it’s great to know that so many of you agree with us. We’ll finish March off with a performance of Buxtehude’s Jesu membra nostri on Good Friday evening and start April with Festal Evensong at 4.30pm on Easter Sunday – join us if you can.

This month sees Paul and his group in Bergen welcoming British ensemble, Voces8, to form a “hecadectet” for a joint concert at the Grieghallen concert hall.

Christine (and Rachel Ambrose Evans, formerly of this parish) have recorded a CD with Siglo de Oro. It includes music by Jacob Handl, Andrea Gabrieli, Hans Leo Hassler, and Hieronymus Praetorius, whose dazzling eight-part Missa Tulerunt Dominum meum they have recorded for the first time. The CD will be launched with a concert on Tuesday 24th April at 7pm, at St Mary Aldermary EC4M 9BW.

Nick starts at Glyndebourne in April. He’ll be in Vanessa, Saul, and Rosenkavalier (singing the role of Hausknecht). On 29th April (7pm) he has a recital at the Royal Academy for winning the Richard Lewis/Jean Shanks Award in 2017.

And this is a final farewell from me, after nearly fifteen years of singing with wonderful colleagues. A special thanks to all those who have been so supportive over the years – especially the Friends of the Music – and to Lee, James,  and now Peter.  I hope not to be a stranger!
