The Living Book Club has a vacancy      Sheena Ginnings

The Living Book Club started on 4th May 2014 and has met 32 times.  All our Living Books are members of the congregation or people closely related to members of our congregation.

We have had some fascinating, erudite, learned, amusing and moving speakers. Through it we have discovered so much about people in our midst, what they have done and what inspires them.  And I have had a super excuse to go and talk to people about their lives.

It is also a social occasion and there is always tea and cake and sandwiches and a chance to catch up with friends.

I have been organizing the Living Book Club since it started with Penny Lyndon Stanford doing the refreshments.  I am going to be away for a relatively large amount of time at the beginning of next year. I have also become involved in project managing the Church’s application to become a community sponsor for a refugee family.  Sadly therefore I need to give up organizing the Living Book Club.  It would be lovely if someone else could take it over.  There are still lots of potential ‘living books’ in the congregation.

If you might be interested in being the Living Book Club organizer, or in sharing the role, please contact me [email protected]

If someone is not able to take it over sadly this library will close after the meeting on 3rd December.  But we will go out on a high – the vicar will be our living book talking about “A Month in Jerusalem”.
