under 65 / have had a BCG vaccination
If on the other hand you are over 65 and for whatever reason didn’t have the BCG vaccination the UCL Infection Clinical Research Hub would like to hear from you. BCG was routinely given to schoolchildren until the early years of this century when it was dropped because there isn’t so much TB around today.
The reason for the interest in BCG? The Clinical Team are researching the effect of ageing on the immune system and finding people who didn’t have the BCG isn’t easy.
Medical Research isn’t exactly fun to do but they are always very pleasant, it’s not a bit like a regular hospital visit, there’s no waiting, no rushing, they fall over themselves to be nice they’re so grateful, they even offer you tea ……. and it’s useful.
If you think you’d be interested there are leaflets at the back of church or you can contact Michelle Berkeley who will send you a full information leaflet about exactly what happens.
