Do you sometimes wonder if there\’s anything you could do with old postcards?
There is!
The Sudan Church Association are happy to receive them – even a very ordinary card is worth money to them.
You can send them to
Len Whittaker
16 Marks Close
Ingatestone,
Essex CM4 9AR
And if you\’ve got used stamps the SCA can use them too. Send them to
John Maynard
38 Farrow Close
Barton Hills
Luton LU3 4EE
1st and 2nd class definitive stamps bearing only the Queen’s head should not be included. Please make sure that you have adequate postage on the packet (probably ‘2nd class Large’ so that John does not have to go to a sorting office and pay a surcharge! )
Mint stamps can be bought from Helen Donnellan telephone 01626 774142 [email protected]
The stamp values will be made up from discontinued commemorative issues with some small value definitive stamps in some cases. You can plan for any birthday cards which you send abroad. A friend of mine was shocked to find that her square birthday card required £2.15 in postage for Jamaica.
Helen will itemise any amount of stamps of any value. Payment can be made by bank transfer. She sends instruction by email attachment. If you need to use a cheque, you could phone to get instructions.
The Sudan Church Association is Registered Charity No. 290607.
They have been supporting Sudanese ‘Episcopalians’ since the 1950s. You can watch a video about their work if you do a search of the charity’s name.
