The Hampstead Players is an amateur dramatic group with close links to Hampstead Parish Church dating back to 1976 when the group was started by Graham Dowell, the then Vicar.
Over nearly 40 years the Players have acquired a strong reputation for putting on productions and activities of a high standard, but always with a sense of fun, as befits our status as amateurs. In addition to two main productions in the summer and autumn, the Players offer a varied programme including a monthly Literary Hour, themed poetry evenings, and play readings.
The Players Annual General Meeting takes place in the Crypt Room at 7.30pm on Thursday April 30th. After routine business, there will be an Entertainment including a rollicking song from Guys and Dolls, a haunting folk ballad, a Spanish dance routine and a comedy number.
New members are welcome and we are particularly keen to see more members of the congregation becoming involved and helping to maintain our strong links with the church. No experience is required only an interest in drama and creating good theatre, whether on stage or helping behind the scenes. Why not come along on April 30th and join on the night? Individual membership is only £15 (concessions £10 and family membership £25).
Full details, including how to join, can be found on the Players website www.hampsteadplayers.org.uk. Alternatively, if membership is not for you, please simply come along and enjoy one of our productions we will be performing Richard II in the church from 9-11 July.
