As a former member of HPC – I left London in 2002 – I went to a service with Andrew, my betrothed partner, while in London a few weeks ago for a family wedding. It wasn’t the usual morning service – rather, it was directed primarily towards the children. But for the two of us, coming as visitors, we both left with a warm feeling that this was a church that felt alive, awake, aware. And one that does things well!
After a beautifully crafted and thoughtful service, we were made aware through the notices of the considerable activity going on in the church community, which included practical attempts to address wider social issues.
As we walked away to return to our hosts, we felt we had been given a beautiful space in which to draw nearer to God, and had been welcomed by people we did not know as well as, for me, some familiar faces I was delighted to see again.
All good wishes to you all!
