This year’s Come and Sing event is the Brahms Requiem. On Saturday 8 November – details in the advertisement on page 15 – we expect 100 or more singers to assemble under the baton of James Sherlock to rehearse and then perform the Requiem ‘from scratch’. With Rachel Ambrose Evans and Nicholas Mogg to sing the solos, and Brahms’ own four-handed piano accompaniment, we can look forward to a very exciting day of music making. However, the cost of such a performance – professional fees, music hire etc – is about £1000, so we do need some sponsorship.
It is our custom to print in the programme, under the heading IN MEMORIAM, the names of those whom our sponsors wish to remember. In Memoriam sponsorship is accepted for any contribution of £50 or more. If you would like to make a contribution, with or without naming someone, please get in touch with Handley Stevens (020 7794 0874) or leave a message in his tray in the Vestry. In order to benefit from Gift Aid, cheques should be made payable to the Hampstead Church Music Trust.
