LITERARY HOUR – Wednesday June 19th 1-2pm
From the countless candidates who might well qualify for at least one of the above descriptions, we can only offer a brief selection, as it is not a Literary Day, or Week, or Month, but just one Hour!
Our programme is therefore not an attempt at a ‘top-ten’ list, with one crowning ‘Queen’ at no.1, but a mix of somewhat wild characters – whether historical, fictional, mythological – with even one or two contemporaries.
What our subjects have in common is that they have all been written about in one way or another, whilst some have also written or composed themselves.
Many have become the stuff of legend (if they hadn’t already originated there!), but in my research I also unearthed three women I’d never heard of, but who, through their writing, determinedly – even feistily – insisted on being included!
As with all our Literary Hours, it is FREE, with a voluntary collection for the church Fabric Fund. There’s also a free cup of tea/coffee afterwards!
Hoping to see you there.
NB. Men are not excluded – they may even be allowed an odd word or two!
