One thing you will need in 2011 is money. Or – are you making do with a credit card? British shoppers are relying heavily on their credit cards, with one in five people carrying more than three credit cards, and 17 per cent of us using credit cards at least once a day.
Sadly, more than 14 million Brits are using credit cards to fund day-to-day expenses. This can be a dangerous habit! As one financial expert warns: “If you are funding everyday items, such as petrol and food, and still paying for it long after the product has been used, you should seriously consider what you are doing. If a person uses more than two cards, they are exposing themselves to a lot of credit, which may not be financially healthy, and could make it difficult to obtain future credit in the future.”
Financial situation…
‘The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.’ Cicero – in 55 BC
