In June 2012 we are planning a Flower and Art Festival to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the consecration of the Additional Burial Ground [26th June 1812]. The Festival will include flower arrangements themed around the people buried there.
With this in mind we are running a series of flower arranging workshops to give people ideas and to deal with the basics of flower arranging.
The first one on 11th May at 2.30pm, led by Sheena Ginnings and Meredith Taylor, will demonstrate interpretative ideas, the second on 13th July at 2.30pm, led by Lesley Dungey and Sari Hutton, will concentrate on the basics of construction so that once you’ve got your idea you can make it work.
Attendance is free and everyone is welcome – it’s not just for people who are already on the flower rota. By way of preparation you might like to pick someone from the Tomb Trail or Buried in Hampstead and come with ideas or questions on how to interpret that person, not just in flowers but in art too. If you’re nervous, don’t be, we’ll be working together and the idea is new to most of us so we’ll all be learning together.
It would be helpful to know numbers so if you are hoping to attend please let me know [[email protected] / 020 7267 9339] – if only so that I bring enough milk for the coffee! Equally, if you have questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
