Building on a ten-year heritage of concert giving, literary events and other exciting cultural activities, we present our very first Springfest. We celebrate the arts with a wonderfully eclectic programme – welcoming the exceptional Wihan Quartet from Prague (playing Beethoven, Brahms and Martin with Tom Dunn and Gemma Rosefield), we give the world premiere of a brand new Viola Concerto by Paul Patterson (with Sarah-Jane Bradley as soloist) and our highlight is two rare performances of Benjamin Britten’s masterpiece Curlew River with an outstanding cast in the awe-inspiring splendour of St Stephen’s, Hampstead.
There are many excellent literary events that have been put together for us by Piers Plowright and our many partners have added other events to a truly magnificent programme – which include children’s events on the Heath and at Lauderdale House, and a performance of Fauré’s beautiful Requiem by Highgate Choral Society. We are particularly grateful to our sponsors and supporters this year; they have shown us amazing encouragement in these difficult times
