Revelation 21 for the 21st century
“Then I saw a new heaven and new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no more sea. And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, “Behold the tabernacle of God is with men and he will dwell with them and they shall be his people and God himself will be with them.”
London Challenge 2012 was launched at a service of celebration and dedication in St Paul’s Cathedral on 8 February. The launch was attended by over a thousand people from parishes and organisations across the Diocese
.
Bishop Sandy Millar interviewed three people, representing the diverse communities of London: * The Revd Joanna Jepson, of St Peter’s Fulham and London College of Fashion * The Revd Dr Karowei Dorgu, from the Upper Holloway Team
* and Anthony Poston, from St Mark’s Tollington, who recently attended an Alpha course.
The procession was led by members of Psalm Drummers’, a worldwide network of Christian percussionists. Tom Winpenny, Assistant Sub-organist at St Paul’s, and the New London Children’s Choir led the singing.
In his address, the Bishop asked the congregation what London might look like in thirty years time, and what impact we can have on that vision during the next five years. The full text of the Bishop’s address is available from the link below.

London Challenge film
The film is a snapshot of what God is doing the length and breadth of the Diocese. We hope that people will share it with friends and discuss how their community is contributing to the general construction work on the Holy City. Some ideas about how to do this are given on the London Challenge website.
