His parents: Donald 11.2.1882 - 2.1. 1940 barrister; Catherine 27.3.1879 - 18.2.1945 writer. Her daughter Diana Jackson 1905 - 1913. All loving and dearly loved. On central stone: Ianthe Carswell nee Elstob. Dearest wife of John. Much loved by all her family and her many friends. 12th December 1917 - 25th February 2001. A true and generous spirit.
