This grave is in the churchyard

The most elaborate chest tomb in the churchyard. Perhaps to make up for the absence of any crest, there are swags and tassels and ribbons, skulls and crossobones and cherubs’ heads. The main inscription on top can be read only in certain lights when the sun is low, or at dusk with the aid of a torch; that on the south side, to Miss Amy Cary, who died in 1756, aged 17, ‘universally lamented’ can be seen to be calligraphically elegant.
