During August Church Chat calls you to take our ECO CHALLENGE!
Church Chat is taking a summer break during August. It is a good chance to catch up with chats you may have missed!
As Christians we are called to care for creation as part of loving our neighbours and following God faithfully.
One of the concerns of our Ecoforum which met in mid-July is, you won’t be surprised to hear, RECYCLING! We all face this challenge and so does the church. What can we all do to recycle more? For example
- We get through a lot of tealights – is there anywhere nearer than Exeter that will take them without us having to clean them first?
- Terracycle have an interesting website (www.terracycle.com/en-GB) that explains some of the processes and hazards involved in recycling. It’s surprising what can and can’t be put out for kerbside pickup. Have you spotted something you didn’t know was eligible for a kerbside recycling collection?
- Some time ago the parish magazine featured an item on recycling blister packs from pills. It’s still not easy to find anywhere to take them (Boots in Camden Town do). Has anyone found anywhere else?
The more we all know the more we can be good neighbours for our planet. So can you help us to help you to help the planet by unpacking the mysteries of recycling?
Do you have suggestions of things we can recycle, both as a church and as individuals, but probably don’t at present, including how and where to take things that might be recyclable?
Send your suggestions to [email protected] or [email protected] We look forward to hearing from you. We will share your suggestions in Church Chat and the magazine in September”
