The Revision of Parish Church Electoral Rolls 2013
In 2013 Electoral Rolls are revised across the Church of England.
It is important to ensure that you are on your church’s electoral roll
Why is it so important?
Only people on the electoral roll can vote for Church officers and the PCC

Only people on Deanery Synods can vote for Diocesan Synod reps in 2015
Only people on Deanery Synods can vote for members of the new General Synod in 2015
This is important as in some dioceses Deanery Synods are going to be responsible for new ways of running our parishes by pooling resources
It is important you have a voice on Deanery Synod. In some dioceses Deanery Synods play a major role in our church finances and the quota as well as deciding how clergy may be deployed in the future and how many we might have
those on Deanery Synods will eventually vote on national issues like women bishops. You need to make sure that your representatives reflect your majority views
If you want your say or want to vote for people to represent you, then you must be on the electoral roll.
What action can I take?
You can ensure your name and those of all other church-going parishioners are on the new electoral roll
You could consider standing for election to your local Deanery Synod in 2014, get to know people from other churches and have a voice in decision making
