Peter Cook Foundation Concert

What is the Peter Cook Foundation ?

The Peter Cook Foundation was set up to help young adults with learning difficulties. Being learning disabled doesn’t necessarily mean being incapable of achievement and being able to shine.
Music is among the most effective and therapeutic pleasures these young people enjoy. Many are remarkably musical despite their apparent handicaps in other areas.
The Foundation plans to have music/creative centres where young people with special needs and abilities will be given the opportunity to develop their potential.

WHAT IS A LEARNING DIFFICULTY
Having a learning disability means life-long difficulties in learning, understanding and thinking things through. Some find it hard to walk, talk, or take care of themselves so they need extra help.
They deserve to have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else: meet friends, enjoy hobbies and have a more fulfilling life.

THE PCF PROGRAM AT THE ROUNDHOUSE
The Foundation is delighted to announce a new program launching in Spring 2006 in association with The Roundhouse. This is the first step towards establishing centres where young adults with a love of music, particularly those with learning difficulties, will have a chance to enjoy music on a regular basis.
The PCF Program at The Roundhouse will give them access to exciting and diverse music/creative opportunities along with inspirational teaching and support
