David and Lucinda Moore
Dear all,
Lucinda and I were so touched to receive the kind presentation from you all for our wedding on 4th June. We are immensely grateful for your generosity and lovely messages! And what a lovely card too!
We’re still ‘umming’ and ‘ahhing’ on how exactly to use your kind gift, but we think we’ll invest in some nice furniture for our new home. More to come….
Our wedding day was such a beautiful occasion! We were married in the Parish Church of St Mary, Balcombe, in West Sussex, where David hails from. Lucinda has been learning to ring the church bells there along with David.
We had a fantastic trilogy of priests taking part in the service! The Parish priest of St Mary’s conducted the service and celebrated the Eucharist. Our friend from university, Andrew Allen, (now a curate in Buckinghamshire, and previously Parish Administrator at St. Mary the Virgin, Primrose Hill) gave the sermon and Sarah Eynstone (hope this name rings a bell or two…) conducted the Marriage Ceremony.
We were so blessed to have Lee and the Hampstead Choir come down to make marvellous music! Beautiful singing, as ever, and it was lovely to see Charlotte Ives back with the team with her new baby daughter. David’s two nephews played the trumpet and the choir from St Mary’s Balcombe turned out in full too!
We had some beautiful flowers arranged by the flower teams from Balcombe and Hampstead! Many thanks to Jenny MacDonald-Hay, Lesley Dungey and Sari Hutton for all their wonderful work producing such incredible bouquets and button holes, and to Emma and Jeremy Smith for transporting them safely to Sussex!
We mentioned bell ringing earlier – the bells of St Mary’s joyously rang out before and after the service. Ringers from across Sussex turned out and we were so pleased that Paul Daybell was able to ring in a Quarter Peal of Plain Bob Major after the service.
Father Stephen and Mother Emma were so helpful in the run up to 4th June offering oodles of invaluable practical advice! Much appreciated!
Lastly, it was a joy to see some familiar faces from Hampstead at the ceremony. Thank you so much for making the effort to come to deepest darkest Sussex to see us tie the knot! We have some lovely photographs of the day – do let us know if you wish to have a peek at them!
We look forward to our future with you in Hampstead!
Love from David and Lucinda.
