Valentine’s Ball       Julia Fletcher

9th February 2019

Question:  What does a Valentine’s Ball and Hampstead Parish Church’s Mission Action Plan (MAP) have in common? Answer; ‘at first sight nothing’, but think again.

If you’ve not yet read our new MAP then please do– copies at the back of church and on the website. It sets out who we are as a church, what we do, and where we are going. Our church is committed to growing in impact and numbers, and to offering open welcome and active invitation.

The Valentine’s Ball offers an opportunity for us to invite people who live, work and worship in Hampstead, together with their friends and family to a quality, fun event, in collaboration with the staff and families of Hampstead Parochial School. In line with our MAP values, the event is experimental, inclusive, accessible and participative; all are welcome.

The ticket price of £75.00 per person or £675.00 per table of 10 covers the cost of the evening and includes a drinks reception on arrival, a three course dinner and half bottle of wine per person plus a live band, all set within an attractive local venue at UCS, Frognal, NW3.

Whilst enjoying ourselves, we remain mindful of the needs of others. The evening will therefore also support the C4WS Homeless Project, which amongst other things runs a Winter Shelter programme through the winter months in Camden, which our church and Hampstead Parochial School host on a Saturday evening.  However, this will not be a ‘hard sell’ fund raising dinner. Instead there is an Invitation to donate if you wish when buying tickets and there will be perhaps one or two small scale fund raising opportunities on the night; please consider donating (and Gift Aiding if possible) a little extra when booking. (Note: only donations may be Gift Aided, not the ticket price).

Further details are available in the publicity which is circulating. To book you will need to complete a ticket order form, obtained by emailing   [email protected] or speaking to Julia Fletcher or Rebecca Dodson. Think about getting together with friends and booking a table – perhaps you are a member of a group who would enjoy the opportunity of an evening out together, or you know of people on their own who would love to be invited to something like this.  We can only increase in impact and numbers if we actively go out into the community and invite people to join us.
Hope to see you there!
