Women’s Refuge and Samaritan’s Purse      Rosemary Loyd

In last month’s magazine (p.16) I outlined our plans for parish projects in November and December.

Those wishing to support Samaritan’s Purse should bring their shoe boxes to church by Sunday, 7th December.

The Traidcraft team will be inviting you to sponsor baskets of items in support of The NW3 Good Neighbour Scheme for isolated, housebound people.

The Social Action Committee is supporting a Haringey Women’s Refuge (through CARIS Haringey).  Over the Christmas period they will be housing twenty women, some with very young children.  At this time of crisis for them we are wanting to donate a box of presents for the women and children to share out.  As their rooms are bare and impersonal, we are suggesting that donations might include mugs, posters and cushions as well as smaller personal and fun items, e.g. note books, biros, emery boards, make up samples, balloons, hand cream, etc.  During November there will be a box inside the church on Sundays to collect your donations.

We hope you will take part!
