Surgeon and first Medical Officer of Health for Hampstead from 1856. He carried out radical reforms in his roles as Sanitary Inspector, Public Vaccinator and Medical superintendent of the Workhouse in New End. He lived latterly at Elm Cottage, Rosslyn Hill. His grave includes 2 children and 2 grandchildren, who died in their infancy.
