Vicar of Hampstead from 1807-41. His father, the rich squire of Hoddesdon Hall in Oxfordshire, bought the living for him. White put his curates to live in the old vicarage at 28 High Street and took up a grander residence in Montagu Grove. According to Kennedy ‘Dr White preferred the open country of Frognal to the town’.
