This grave is in the churchyard

The classical limestone chest tomb surrounded by tall railings dates from the death of his Constable’s wife in 1828. It was restored by public subscription during the bicentenary celebrations of 1976. There was not enough money to do this in his daughter Isabella’s bequest of £50 ‘to keep the family vault in good repair ….. any surplus to be given to relieving the poor and respectable inhabitants of Hampstead.’
